Oh, good, I'm not the only Prophets apologist!
Oh, good, I'm not the only Prophets apologist!
Thanks, Yuri. I must've read something that talked about that. Because wasn't the Dominion initially conceived as being a sort of anti-federation with similarly diverse crews for their ships, etc?
I have a vague memory of them somehow being connected to the Jem'Hadar. Does something about that come up, or am I just making things up?
I didn't make it much past the first season of Voyager, so what the fuck is a temporal cold war? Or do I really not want to know?
Transporter Room 3 was the Pod 6 of the Enterprise.
That sounds like it could be a little fascinating, comparing/contrasting the two.
Worf's contempt for their obsession with the Alamo thing was a nice touch, too.
Does anyone else have their perception of any character Coombs portrays colored by his Herbert West from Re-animator?
As far as Odo not seeming to be as powerful as he should, I agree, but would also point to [SPOILERS] "Invasive Procedures", where the bad guys know they have to immediately neutralize Odo. I find the concept similar to TNG's "Brothers" demonstrating just how quickly and easily Data could take over the entire…
After seeing the "darker" aspects of the Federation in DS9, I like to imagine that Starfleet has decided to put all of their most inflexibly idealistic and moral officers on to one ship (the Enterprise) and make it the flagship so that's the impression that everyone gets of the Federation. Meanwhile, the rest of…
Someone using an DnD alignment analogy to compare Trek characters. Clearly, I'm home.
You might be right; I suspect my impression of the Odo/Kira relationship is somewhat colored by knowing where it goes and how significantly it changes, whereas Odo/Quark is basically the same dynamic through the whole series (though it never feels stale).
Indeed.
"Big Trouble in Little Bajor"?
What about "Hard Time"?
That exact sentence is in my notes. But I doubt they really knew what they were doing with Morn at this point.
That whole dynamic feels like one of the most consistent throughout the series.
Awesome.
Expect a lot of that throughout the first season.
I had similar thoughts re: Tahna's plan to collapse the entrance to the wormhole. I guess an argument could be made that having so many (non-bajoran) ships pass through it is similarly bad, though.
