Thanks it hasn't been blaring from the news all day and on every website ever.

The Amputee is mostly a video test of the Log Lady sitting in a chair and writing in a diary or just voice over talking about some strange story.

It is on his Eraserhead Box set from like 2003 though!

Hey AvClub, do one on the three episode mini-series Hotel Room! I love the first episode, its one of my favorite things that Lynch has ever done. the second is pretty good, the third is a bit meh but still fascinating.

I saw this years ago with some friends when we rented some beat up vhs from our local cult video store (largest collection in the state!). We got stoned and loved the hell out of it.

When this first came out I was surprised it was so many people's first time seeing a scat video. But I guess I had fucked up friends.

I agree they did a good job establishing the characters and it is one of the strengths of the film, but I enjoy the characters from Alien as well. They aren't the most shaded in but they feel like real people with their own inner lives, except the other woman who is not Ripley, she's pretty flat.

I think it is meant in the sense of over the topness. Alien is pretty striped down.

The characters aside from Ripley and David Biehns character are fucking obnoxious shit heads who irritated the hell out of me. Aliens is a greatly crafted film but I just don't really like it that much. Alien is one if my tip ten films of all time. Aliens isnt even in my top fifty.

The original drawings that inspired the Alien are literal dick heads

He started off as 36 then they changed it to 38, right? He'll always be 36 in my eyes. I am much closer to Homer's age than Bart these days and that saddens me.

I understand queer is used basically as gay or trans with non binary elements as well as cultural studies, but it always annoys me how queer was the F word from the fifties where gay bashing involved physical death a lot more than the 80's or 90's and the F word is anathema while queer has been reclaimed. I wish

Yeah but isn't it mostly teenage white girls who are too cool for lesbian more than it includes people of color

Human beings created the holocaust and survive by enslavement and constant war. They are acting human.

I don't know, if you watch the episodes Lynch directed they are usually pretty different in tone. The smile drops in the episodes he directs, the humor is more Lynch humor (I am thinking the scene in the diner w Chet Desmond in fwwm) than quriky small town weirdness humor from the rest of the show.

It's frightening how more relevant thst scene becomes over time.

In the recent Vanity Fair article it is stated that l.a. and other parts of the country become settings in this Season. Years ago Lynch revealed that lost highway and Mulholland Drive take place in the same universe. I wonder if this season will bring these works together. Balthazar Getty and Naomi Watts may be

My gut is telling me Season 3 will begin with another girls death, Cooper is the killer and he spends the rest of the show murdering and covering up his crimes from the other characters until he is exposed in the end.

"There is an order to things, that is what we do here." = "We saved you. And now you save others." Fool me once…
