Ya know what, Fuck Le Tigre (not for supporting Hillary, for being annoyingly enthusiastic about it).

Thank you for a thoughtful reply. I don't like when people paint her as a leftist. Are some of her positions consistent with the left, yes, but a lot of it isn't and you aren't a cooky nutso for disagreeing with her or pointing that out.

I will have to check out it, thank you! I really wish he would move outside his comfort zone, I feel like he has potential.

Didn't know that. I know he went to art school in NYC and White Zombie was supposedly quite experimental back in the day, actually somewhat associated with the NY No Wave scene. Having listened to one of their early demos…it didn't sound that experimental.

Was it really….actually better back then? Coming of age in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 made me extremely angry at the reflective nationalism of this country.

I….jesus christ, that must be head against a brick wall frustrating. You're totally right but you aren't going up against reason, or even emotion, you are going up against tribal herd mentality which is basically going to war with our biological makeup that for better or worse is what brought us to where we are as a

Something tells me she isn't going to be able to keep her promise on this one.

I always avoided this movie at the video store (VHS) because I thought it would be a sick exploitation film, and not being a fan of horror in general, i simply avoided it. This review makes it seem like it does everything right in regards to the unexplainable banal evil of a serial killer. Learning that Roger Ebert

That's….a good observation. Although I think violence and gore in film may act as a catharsis for our fear of mortality and bodily alienation. Being confronted with our innards and physical vulnerability in the safe space of cinema titiliates us because we are being confronted with our anxieties but safely walling

Eh even a lot of Whtie Zombie sounds like Rob Zombie music.

The only thing I ever saw from Zombie is the ending to Lords of Salem with "All Tomorrow's Parties" playing over it. The tracking shots, the ornate theater were all great work reminiscent of Kubrick. I was very impressed. From what I understanding, none of his other movies are like that at all, which is a shame

I don't know what your opinion of Lynch's work is but if you like Mulholland Drive, it is like a more opaque, more baroque Mulholland Drive. But whereas Mulholland Drive had more of a mirror structure, INLAND EMPIRE is more like a fractal structure.

One of these days I am going to finally be able to come to you and say, "I get it now" I look forward to that day. I have seen the movie about four times, last time was probably at least three years ago, I own it on DVD, will be giving a re-watch soon.

Oh that's just his way. He gets really passionate about INLAND EMPIRE.

It is Snidley! Ah, so glad he is still with us.

When I heard about that new Scientology Doc I thought to myself "ugh another one, who doesn't know they are a bunch of dangerous lunatics at this point?" but seeing the trailer yesterday it looks pretty interesting.

Agreed. Prior to me knowing about Lynch being involved in TM the biggest red flag to me was the fact they charge like 1600 to teach you basic mantra meditation. Now they have basically turned Lynch into their Tom Cruise and it is quite disheartening. I think meditation is fine and good but the idea that you have to

True, but when he isn't being a snide shit he has written very long impassioned and fascinating digressions about INLAND EMPIRE that are either totally brilliant or the works of a paranoid schizophrenic, I lean more towards brilliant.

Just saw some of that. She doesn't seem to get into it much, she also seems a bit uh…..kooky, but I hope they don't reduce her part. She is fantastic as Audrey and that's one of my bigger reasons for tuning in, seeing what happened to Audrey in that bank vault.

I am reluctant about Lynch getting into the reboot (i know not technically a reboot) especially not having Harry S. Truman involved, but I can't help myself about getting excited against my better judgement.
