I'm not sure I get Simon's point. Yes, of course people will see The Wire differently now that it's been completed as they would if they were following weekly when it was first aired. Why not embrace the fact that there are so many people out there now who have enjoyed your work so much that they're willing to blog…
I loved the discussion between Capt Lee and Agent Lee. The notion that one's decisions and simple will to be different really struck a chord - with me, at least. Man, I hope FRINGE can be renewed - it's more than just a guilty pleasure - it's one of my favourite shows.
I'm just about finished Season 4 on DVD, so you're welcome, Mr. Simon for whatever residuals you may be getting from my purchase.
For what it's worth, I'm trying to set aside some funds for my first tattoo: Keith Richards as a Simpson, wearing a Rolling Stones Canada t-shirt. Hey, we've both been rockin' (more or less) since 1962…
I'm only at the end of Season 3 - man, Omar must do some incredible stuff in the last couple of seasons to warrant all this love.
He brings a similar "just an OK" performance to FRINGE…
reckoner's right - The AV Club needs to get on this, pronto!
I suspect the documentary had to get SOME Canadian content wedged in there somehow. All in all, a pretty cool series. I enjoy seeing how so many diverse groups can be linked together.
As long as everything is wrapped up in a satisfying manner, I'm OK with however long it takes. It's been a wonderful run so far - just don't ruin our little gem by rushing an ending or having it wander off aimlessly.
As long as it gives us a chance to see "Bubs" as the taxi driver again.
The Arrow by the Heartless Bastards - it grows on you like crazy. Her voice is simply perfect crazy bliss.
HB's at the Horseshoe Tavern tonight - I wish I could take my broke ass down to catch the show, but it looks like I'll have to wait for the next tour. Thanks, AV Club for turning me on to such a cool band. She's got an amazing voice, and a knack for writing tunes that stick with you. Simply awesome.
Woah! I thought this was much better than a B episode! We're starting to see some of the pieces come together, and in typical Fringe fashion, we'e never quite sure if everything is as seems. Great acting again by the core characters, and so many emotional moments - definitely an A- episode if I've ever seen one! I…
What were they thinking when they made Tattoo the first single? Did somebody lose a bet?
A refreshingly decent return to form. Definitely better than the latest efforts by some other semi-rockin' bands. Yes, I'm looking at you, Radiohead and U2.
If nothing else, this show reinforces the love for my new Nissan Sentra SE-R! Yay, Fringe!
Every time I watch FRINGE this season, and hear about the dismal ratings and threats of cancellation, I can't help but think the writers should have stuck with a "freak of the week" format, and kept the over-arching themes to a minimum - at least newer viewers could have attracted. Right now, it's impossible for a new…
Stunt double?
It would certainly add a new meaning to "…don't poke the bear".
