I think you're right about Joan getting some (unconscious) inspiration from the riot footage, but I think more so than that, this episode show'd us the variety of ways that the characters react to the harbingers of oncoming dramatic change. Joan decides to grab the brass ring in spite of everyone telling her

Well, if this is the "writers’ attempt to give Joan something to do here in the late stages of the season", I'll take this over a Betty/Sally/Henry thread any day of the week.

The fact that it takes place in Dulles is itself a blooper. There are so many inconsistencies with DH2 and the actual airport it really takes you out if it if you're familiar with the airport and the area.

Anna Chlumsky in "My Girl". I swooned as a 7 year old.

"I'll just be sitting over here on this Fryvault®"

Totally agree. I think I've listened to Time Bobby 2 almost as much as the Don DiMillo episode with Patton Oswalt, and buddy, that's a lot of times.

No thanks. I got more than enough of her indignant "perspective" on Twitter.

And makes me want to listen to Neko Case.

Kudos to Jack Gleeson to channeling Joaquin Phoenix's Commodus.

He's pretty funny on Vine. I like the "Bowie at Home" one.

"Ugh" is the term that best encapsulates the feeling of undiluted disgust that one experiences when faced with unfathomable depths of hubris and pretension.

Hey, did you know it came down to you and me on E-Trade?!

"that mix of self-consciousness and arrogant exuberance is irresistible."

The "Ernest" movies. RIP the fantastic Jim Varney, but those films hold up worse than a competitor's paper towel in a Brawny commercial.

I remember I saw the whole Holy Grail as a thirteen year old, after years of watching it as a kid. When the movie reached the scene where the knights went to the castle full of hot virgin nuns where one says: "and then, the oral sex", I remember asking my cousins if this was a deleted scene.

As a child, I loved that movie until the girl showed up. Ewwwww!!!

I remember being disappointed as a kid when Part III came out because it only took place in 1885, but I've still watched it countless times, because I will always love seeing Marty and Doc getting into adventures, in any time.

Sonia…you my soul sister. I've loved The Little Mermaid longer than any movie I can remember.
