I always noticed that too, but then I spent a week hanging out with my media-type friends who live in New York. Midnight was the dinner rush for a lot of places.

Superweasel is well worth the search. I re-read it last year for an event at my old elementary school. It's amazing. Kid becomes Batman, cleans up the town (literally), shames polluters into compliance with the law, and then finishes up with an "Occupy"-style march on City Hall.

I will check that out. But I also recommend THE BOY DETECTIVE FAILS by Joe Meno. It is heartbreaking and brilliant — all about the collision between childhood adventure and the darker implications of growing up.
