It was certainly abrupt (at least as far as Melfi's recognition and actions), but I agree with you that it's something that has been building for quite a while. As is noted above, it really often takes being confronted by one's friends / colleagues before you'll do something that you really have known in your heart…

I still want Doug Benson to find a John LIthgow impersonator and do a DLM with (1) John Lithgow; (2) PFT (as John Lithgow); and (3) the third as of yet unnamed John Lithgow impersonator.

That does make sense, but I don't want it to be true. Clay looked so defeated in the end. And, despite everything that he's done, I did genuinely feel bad for him. He was ready to pack it all up, leave all of this behind and just live out the rest of his life away from this. Not that he deserves to, but pinning…

@avclub-7f6ef73902765d3773dccb4b1d0144ca:disqus It bothered me also. I couldn't help but feel it was incredibly dishonest and manipulative to throw that in. All I could think of during the scene where Tig is happy and petting that dog, and all Sutter wants you to think is "oh, look at that Tig, he's got a heart…

I've honestly had enough of KIrkman on the show. She was great for a long time, but her being gone was fantastic. Rotating the guests was refreshing, and should happen again in the future. PFT's conversations with Tom Lennon and Aukerman were fantastic.

I have zero interest in seeing Jack Reacher. But if that scene was in it, along with Jack "reaching" to pull down the credits, I'd pay $20 for a ticket opening night.

I agree, in large part. It's the fact that someone else made the connection between the study and Tony. She may have subconsciously been avoiding those kinds of studies, or maybe even convincing herself that as long as no one noticed, she could keep "treating" Tony. Having it pointed out to her meant that she had…

Second on the book. I've only read the Sopranos, Wire and Shield chapters so far, but they've been fantastic.
