I agree it's a weak year (outside of Tenacious D). Here's a couple I haven't seen mentioned though:

At least they included Bob Mould's appearance with 'em (starts around 11 minute mark).

Scorching hot desert heat.
Even more miserable when it rains.
Draconian security.
Halfway across the state from anywhere.
State Patrol in full effect.

The funny thing to me about The Wall is that it's "Disco Floyd". Seriously, listen to the drum tracks, they definitely were shooting for a hit record.

Yeah, that shirt is pretty iconic - the summer when Pyromania was big every douchebag in town had one I think.

They were considered part of the new wave of british heavy metal pre-Pyromania.

C'mon! Highway to Hell is one of the best sounding records of all time. Back in Black is also pretty great sounding but HtH sounds less "studio" to me.

Summer of '88 was all about …And Justice For All and Appetite for Destruction.

Why don't you call me some time when you have no class?

You live in the ocean 'cause you ain't got no job!

Make room for Paco put some sauce on that taco!

Quite exciting, this computer magic!
