I can't say that people who don't like the new episodes are wrong, because it is definitely different. Even then, give it a chance: it took me a few episodes, but I really got into it.

I'm not crazy! I've noticed this in other shows too.

Most people I've talked to ( as well as myself) say they enjoyed the episodes much more on rewatch.

For what it's worth, I thought the voting gag went too long the first time watched it. The second time around, it became one of the highlights of the new episodes for me.

HA! AD has really outdone itself. I love this show/season so much.

I loved the "I'm going to sit across from you. So it doesn't get confusing" gag.

I squealed like a little girl, no joke. I didn't notice Joel and the bots at first, and then slowly realized what I was actually watching. So good.

On the next Development That Isn't Going Forward or Something

Agreed. I think some fans just expected more of the original AD, and were disappointed when they got something that has the same sense of humor, but different structure more creative. Honestly, it looked like what AD would have been with more resources and a larger budget from the beginning.

I too was put off by the first episode for the same reasons. Seeing Michael at his lowest just didn't feel right, and without the context/background it almost felt like the show was trying to make us laugh at how pathetic Michael was, which I just couldn't do without more buildup.

I'm debating whether I want to read reviews and comments. I finished the season* and loved it so much** that I kind of just want to leave it at that.

I liked Rogen/Wiig. Sure, it's distracting and unsubtle, but they both did a good job (especially Wiig's Lucille, which was pretty close to perfect) and it's such a minor part of the episodes that it didn't detract anything for me.

Joel and the bots make a cameo. They were in the credits so I assume it was actually them. I literally squealed.

Now that I'm a few episodes in I see it that now. Once the callbacks start in, it really picks up.

It's different. Not sure what it is, but it feels weird. And seeing Michael in that episode…well, no spoilers, but it was weird.

I consider myself a fan but this describes me pretty well. I quote it constantly, is definitely one of my favorites, and I share that fandom with a lot of my friends. But the way other people talk about it, I'm like "whoa, slow down there-it's just a TV show."

It's like a pre-emptive rejection. You can't get hurt if you were never invested in the first place.

Am I in the minority in saying I'm going to just watch them and see how I react to them? I don't get the whole "they're going to suck!" thing. I like AD, so I have no reason to assume I won't enjoy the new ones. And if I don't, then I don't.

Nothing could possib-lie go wrong.
