I've often thought that at this point, given all the ret-cons and shit, comics might be better off just saying "fuck it" with continuity, and letting writers/artists do their thing - "hey, you've got Spider-Man for 3 yrs, do what you want to do with him."

I never got Purple until the other day when I was listening to them and realized that Judas Priest and Maiden - basically the 2 definitive metal bands, IMO - are TOTALLY going down the path the Purple blazed, with that classical influence…
