This really does seem to be true.  Back when my brother was a teenager, he managed to talk my father into watching Monty Python's Flying Circus for the first time.  Of course the episode that came on PBS that night was full of naked breasts and Terry Jones stripping and rape jokes.  My brother was mortified.
