Well, true, for this role the shortness is a drawback, certainly.  But he's been getting short jokes for years.  Characters in books rarely get justice in movies anyhow — I thought Robert Downey Jr. was too short to play Sherlock Holmes, and Forrest Gump was supposed to be a great big guy too.

There are points in that movie where the resemblance is uncanny.  I noticed that but never caught on that it was intentional until I read it somewhere.

These always remind me of the bizarre little conversations that surround every main gag in the early Pogo strips, or the offhand loose threads of a Bob and Ray routine.  I don't know why they're so funny, but they are.

Those are some pretty nightmarish cards, especially the descriptions.  The one about the cholera victims is horrific.

I would not say that he is a terrible actor, but for a major star, he's about as consistently uninteresting an actor as I can recall.
