Good Songs, Good writing.
My feelings on this season have become more positive as it's gone on, and I think tonight's was another solid one. I enjoyed Halley Feiffer (of The Squid and the Whale) as Bret's romantic conquest and I've enjoyed the Conchords oscillating between disgusting and joining Mel throughout the

I hadn't heard the expression before so at least I learned something. In all honesty I'm enjoying the write-ups and I always enjoy the tangetical experiences surrounding festivals and festival culture.

American Pierce
You know sometimes you read festival write-ups that don't give you a full picture of what it's like to be there, but Mr. Piece captures it by dint of actually being there. It's surprising that he's able to do that by dint of his limited resources and long travel time by dint of car. It was nice to read

Bahdman
All of this would be less upsetting and expected if A.R. Rahman, the writer of the original song didn't both produce the remix and appear in the video. It's also a bit upsetting to leave IFC on between movies and hear this shit set to a montage of the spoilerist of spoilery moments from the end of Slumdog.

Yeah so I quickly went back and looked, and of the 55 comments I've made in the past few months, four of them have been "corrections" to Rabin's posts. I think that says far less about the competence of the writer than my anal-retentiveness.

Not a penis.
I believe it's Willy Wonka, not Willie.

That definitely looked like Green, but the scene that made me question whether or not it was all Green was the scene in the bar where they watch Kenny's video for the first time, because it's all wideshot/mediumshot/closeup locked down and it seemed very un-Green like. Even when his camera is still in his movies the

OK, finally going through the links I'm a bit disappointed in the A.V. Club now for picking this up. We have two reports, one from a mildly retarded fanboy (the non-Phillips one). How is this a story? How is two people reporting on the internet that some people walked out of their theater news?

$14 Incentive
I didn't see any walk-outs and only one person seemed to have gotten up during the movie to leave for a minute, but I did see it in IMAX and even if it had sucked (as 300 did so very, very much) I know I'd still have sat through the entire thing because of the ticket price alone. The most walk-outs I've

The Real Library
I'm kind of with you on the virtues of limited selection, but my experience with that has been far more low-tech. When I was first really getting into movies in high school, I ended up in the movie section at my local library. This particular library had a very small selection of DVDs, taking up a

In addition
I believe McBride says L. Ron, not El Ron, in reference to L. Ron Hubbard, the obscure science fiction writer.

The David Gordon Green Effect?
The previous David Gordon Green episodes had his definite mark, but throughout this one I questioned myself as to whether this was a Green episode. Parts of it were so boringly and lifelessly directed that I wonder if some scenes were shot with Adam McKay (next week's director) instead

I've Got Lowered Expectations
I enjoyed tonight's show, as I always do, but it did feel a bit sit-comy to me, which it never has before.

Wendy and Lucy
I'd definitely include Wendy and Lucy in with Umberto D. as a great "I have nothing left but my dog, oh wait my dog's gone" movie. In that same De Sica-esque vain, Ramin Bahrani's two features would fit on the list, both "Man Push Cart" with it's ever increasing terrible things happening to a foreigner

Damned Good
I enjoyed the confluence of Harry and the Hendersons influenced events. I enjoyed "Jalisa" quite a bit, but this was a better balance of the things that make 30 Rock awesome, and we got a bunch of time with the writers. Also Cerie and Josh were back, which was nice since we got to see they're still around.

I'm not looking forward to the two episode after Green makes his departure. The last two are directed by Jody Hill (Pilot, boo) and Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, yeah, Step Brothers, boo), so it'll be interesting to see if they can maintain a bit of Green's quality.

Songs
The songs that stick out to me so far are "Too Many Dicks on the Dancefloor," "Carol Brown," "Hurt Feelings," and "Sugalumps." There's been a surprisingly low number of songs that would work out of context this year (I wonder what their tour will be like this time around), but some of them are up to Season 1

The writers!
I thought this was one of the stronger episodes of the season, along with Christmas Special. I kind of never miss Jenna when she's gone, and I enjoyed seeing both the writers and the writers' room again. I thought every storyline complimented one another well and it ended in a satisfactory fashion. I'd

"and on that bombshell!"

Aha!
I'd reccomend seeing "Knowing Me, Knowing You" before "I'm Alan Partridge" since it gives you the full scope of his character and his phobias and blindspots, and without spoiling it, the end is brilliant.
