Mastodon, Opeth, Skeletonwitch, the best of that nutty indie alt-rock stuff you hipsters like so that I don't have to go searching for the best stuff myself.

Just listen to the classical station.  Trust me, trying to find a good rock station is impossible.

Yeah, but what about GODSMACK?  I mean, what the flying fuck?  GODSMACK???

Not even 14, dude.  Linkin Park will always be middle-school music for me.  My favorite band when I was 11, indifferent to them by 14.

Thank you.  Christ, I can't believe that people are still so misinformed about HD after all these years.  I think it's because the film projection standards in theaters are not enforced well, and you end up with a blurry, unfocused picture that looks on par with DVD.  I can't recall the last time I've seen a properly

"The "grain" of film is a result of imperfect reproduction of the image
due to the characteristics of emulsion, but it serves to obscure the
sharp edges of reality."

Yeah, but 30mm film, which is used for the vast majority of movies, has a lot more detail than can be seen in a 480p (highest resolution for DVD) image.  Why would you not want to see a movie closer to what the creators intended, especially for pre-home-video films?  I don't think I can ever watch 2001, Blade Runner,

Despite being a big fan of metal, one of my favorite things about the show is how it ties into other elements of rock culture as well.  So far the show has parodied Beatles-style pop, blues, Halen-style party-metal ("I do cocaine!"), and GNR-style hard rock (Snakes N Ladders).  The rock geek in me likes that.

I would say Dethklok is a mixture of Post-80s Metallica (all the in-band politics, and the massive popularity), Cannibal Corpse (obsession with brutality, and blue-collar hard-drinking lifestyle), and '90s Norwegian black metal (lack of self-awareness).  Their actual music is melodic death metal.

Fellow Adult Swim show "Boondocks" parodied mainstream rappers on several occasions.  (Fwiw, most of the people that were involved with the show are black.)

Yo Steven Hyden, any plans to cover Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP?  Would love to read your thoughts on that record, as it was quite an anomaly in the sea of boy-bands, nu-metal, and cliche gangsta rap.

Maybe it's because, being born in 1990, I only heard Pearl Jam for the first time in the early '00s (on alt-rock radio along with all the other PJ-clones), but Pearl Jam has always sounded like adult-contemporary to me.  Eddie Vedder's voice sounds like that of a middle-aged dad, and the rest of the music sounds

This is nuts!  My biggest criticism of Colbert's schtick is that it's way too obvious and over-exaggerated to be good satire.  I wonder what the determining factors are in how well someone can recognize satire and irony.

OMG are you actually Billy Corgan.  OMFG I am such big fan!  I love your music and you bald head!!!??

I would love to see Metallica tour with holo-Burton.

Despite being a few years too young to play them upon their release, I've played my fair share of adventure games, having had nothing but a 600 MHz computer for a gaming system until 2002.  I've always run into the same problem.
