"A Collection of Essays" by George Orwell. I read this back in high school so now I'm jumping around and skipping his focused literary critiques and just reading his memoir and general thinking pieces. So "Such, Such Were the Joys," "Boys' Weeklies," "Looking Back on the Spanish War" and so on.

Yes! It was much better than this. I didn't watch it at first because it appeared to focus too much on the high school setting but it works. The characters are much more like their comic book originals than they are in this cartoon.
