A lot of the people who are really upset seem to genuinely not understand how the Onion works, what their style of humor entails, etc. I think that's the difference between "you shouldn't make that kind of joke about an actual kid" and "THE ONION IS RACIST".

I highly doubt anyone involved in the AV Club has anything to do with the Onion Twitter account. They seem to be organizationally distinct.

She should be the next doctor. The first one who is an actual doctor and ends up doing an autopsy every other episode.

All I want is for her to do some autopsies and occasionally walk cautiously through a door holding an enormous handgun.

Apparently it was also racist, because the Onion would have never said such a terrible thing about a white person.
