I believe they also used prefab appliances + makeup a lot more on DS9, which made it faster and easier to do weird-looking aliens beyond "humans with a ridge". Still all humanoid, of course.

He almost didn't agree to reprise the role, it was so small. God bless him for doing it, though. Damar is great every time he opens his mouth, and even when he's just making an unimpressed face at Kira.

The two Vorta that show up before Weyoun feel a bit different, too. More openly malevolent and cunning. They're played like standard Star Trek bad-guy aliens.

They were forced to bring on Worf and do the Klingon conflict, but I don't care. They wanted to rush straight to "Homefront", and I think they would have exhausted the potential of the Dominion a lot faster. The Klingon plot gave them more time to build up the Dominion threat.
