Search For Spock at least presented to us a bold new vision of the future where grown women get it on with soulless teenage clones to help them through alien puberty.

The last two series were generally seen as a drop in quality (although both of them got somewhat better over time). The movies absolutely got much worse in the TNG era.

I mostly don't hate it despite its flaws, because I'm willing to see it as a different franchise that can go its own way. I don't like that it's crowding out what I'll continue to see as "real Star Trek", but Abrams Trek is better than No Trek.

I don't know about that. TNG had unique circumstances: it was distributed via a then-revolutionary syndication mechanism that ensured it would reach as many markets as possible without the ratings pressure of traditional programming. It also appeared in the middle of what was a very bad period for network television.

Weyoun? I'd like to toss that smug little Vorta out the nearest airlock.

Apparently it's NOT Khan? Man. That's good.

The ending of Generations was terrible, but the rest of the movie was… okay. I at least appreciate the attempt to make a TNG movie that felt like TNG.

Trek '09 was a lot of fun to watch, I'll give it that. I have not enjoyed it as much on subsequent viewing.

So, in Abrams Trek 3: Spock's Beard the evil Spock goes around mind-melding with people and stealing their powers. Right?
