i admit robert plant's voice still gets on my nerves. which is too bad because i have met him a few times and he is extremely nice guy

once saw something on a girl's profile somewhere and it said "i live for music", then listed about 6 or 7 bands that sounded exactly the same. and one of them was linkin park. that might be the dealbreaker, and not just for the linkin park type list.

1) if there is pleasure, there is no guilt in my book
3) or worse, hating a genre (or artist) because of who else listens to it

i must be damaged. i try with all my might (and boy i really try), but i just can't hate the eagles. not that i listen to them with any frequency, mind you

or bands of the same ilk that you never hear. i can't recall ever hearing any humble pie or robin trower on classic radio (at least where i have lived)

for years, i hated led zeppelin and the who. classic rock radio ruined them for me. after giving up radio (which i mention in a post above) for 20 years, i am just starting to enjoy them in very small doses.

agreed. why shit on anything marginal. it's too easy. and it's exactly the same as liking something that everyone else seems to like

true. i haven't listened to the radio in over 20 years, but i make up for it in any number of other ways to catch new music. great stuff is out there, whether it's old or new, you just need to dig a little, and if i miss something that's just my fault
