Apparently the audience was cheering so loud when she (SPOILER) escaped, that the studio shook. The almost-rape episode was certainly flawed, but that's an amazing moment.

Let me heartily recommend the AITF episode, "Games Bunkers Play," which offers a striking deconstruction of the Mike character, and probably my favorite ending. Really touching, smart, and insightful:

I have to say, I was all psyched to like Tom's book, and really couldn't take it at all. It was kind of like listening to your stoned hippie uncle at a party, tell a bunch of rambling stories about his far-more-famous friends, that you're not really sure are true or not, and some don't really have a point anyway.

If you watch the pilot from Breaking Bad, they tried to make Marie the funny, wacky one. But that was a little too much. So then they tried to make her a compulsive shoplifter. But with all that's going on (meth dealing, murder), it's hard to care about someone who steals stuff random objects from a local gift store.

Didn't a lot of people theorize that Hank's boss was on the take from Gus? I mean, it's a little weird he had to resign for "missing" the Fring operation, if there was no chicanery there. And he seemed pretty close with the guy. Could that speech about missing his "hermano" (brother) been his attempt to plant a seed

I'm not going to say the Gong Show Movie was a great film, or even a good one — it's way too sloppy, self-indulgent, and, as these clips show, repetitious. I don't know if it's frail health (the ravages of Diabetes) or too much plastic surgery, but MTM doesn't look so great these days. And of course, she used to look quite great indeed. Though the last role I saw her in, Flirting with Disaster, she was very funny.

There was also The New Odd Couple and even the New Temperature Rising, which just seems to have gotten "new" because they put Paul Lynde in it.

Man, taking an old show name, and putting "new" in front of it was such a 70s thing (see "The New Dick Van Dyke Show.") In retrospect, it stamps your show as a retread almost from the get-go.
