I haven't seen any of the recent episodes, but I just popped in to say that "Bender becomes a were-car" was IMO much worse than "Bender becomes a space Pharoah." I didn't even know the Pharoah episode was that hated.

It's working already!

I had a few friends like that: they're a core part of the group when they're there, but they have some other part of their life going on elsewhere as well.

I only know of one girl I dated in high school who turned out to be a lesbian, and the only thing strange about it is how long it took me to figure that out.  We hung out together, and had some fun, but there wasn't much spark.  Still, I was too insecure to let go, and I was still pissed when she broke it off.  We had

In middle school, a friend's mom drove he and I to a nearby town to go to the mall; on the way back, instead of taking me to my house she dropped us off at the movie theater for an unplanned "double date."  I was OUTRAGED that I had been manipulated into this, set up even, so much that I DEMANDED to be taken home

I was going to mention that re: the combination sporting goods / army surplus store on the show.  Apparently Feig's father ran just such a store; there's a story in his book Kick Me about needing a green elf costume for a school pageant and his mother making one out of olive drab tarps or something from the store.

"I need access to faster nudity!"

Mary-Louise Parker Can't Lose was an awful show.

Everybody send e-cards to D_Boons_Ghost@yahoo.com!  He sounds like he needs a pick-me-up.  And from what I've heard, help for erectile dysfunction.

Who does she think she is, Taylor Swift?  Or a Taylor Swift fan?

Yes, that is exactly my meaning.  Also, one cannot criticize architecture unless he has planted an orange grove.

When David Lynch opens his own theme park, I'll take his opinion on what makes a good ride seriously.

He probably just plays a round of golf with Alice Cooper.

A hundred and fifty years ago you might not have thought that; Mormons have had time to mellow out (relatively).

STOP THE PRESSES!!!!

Proctor And Gamble Are Next!

I hope there's plenty of quirting action.

Ha, I had to read that based on your comment.  But it makes perfect sense to me: that was what it was like in the '80s, it was the Cold War.  Everything came back around to the Bomb!

I've probably seen Airplane! dozens of times, but one aspect of it didn't register until by chance I saw Zero Hour, the film it most closely parodies, on TCM.  The fact that so many of Airplane!'s jokes play off the straight lines in ZH summoned the image of the writers just watching ZH and razzing it, talking to the

I guess I need to see Once Around. I like Richard Dreyfuss in comedy mode; it seems like in more recent years he's only remembered for his more earnest/serious stuff.  My wife turned me on to The Competition when we were dating; it's mostly serious but it has some real comic touches and is worth seeing.
