I really like his writing. He's very thorough in exploring the kind of genre shows (and especially Sci-Fi/Adventure) that a lot of critics have a hard time unpacking, or tend to address in very broad terms.

I read this book I thought you might like. It's a (translated) French comic that's like a dark, hallucinatory children's fantasy story with a twisted spiritual element. I got it from the library, and I thought it was pretty unique. Maybe not quite a must-read, but worth recommending IMO.

He tried to keep it with him but it was so lazy it always stayed behind. After awhile, it was just too much work.

RISK Update:

This reply was a blast to do. Rockrocky77 was commenting and I said "Hey. what the heck, why not reply?" It was a real blast. Everyone in the thread was really cool. What a blast.

Just a heads up, because I'm really looking forward to Team Risk Friday night. It will likely happen at the same time as the Blue Jays game. I think Risk is the sort of game where you can multi-task, though, so hopefully we can continue with our plans unabated.

I think this is great. My TV viewing and other hobbies would probably go better and be more rewarding if I organized them like this.

I've been reading Mouse Guard. Great art, plus storytelling that's both epic and intimate. Highly recommended.

I just returned a computer I'd ordered. I guess the "death of hard drive imminent" message made it pretty clear I had to, but I still felt a lot of pressure to make the decision quickly. I wouldn't want to ask for a refund a week after opening it.

This week's marquee fantasy football matchup between Not Randy and Digi was pretty wild. High scoring (118 each) and decided by less than half a point, coming down to an obscure New York Giants player on each team. If Shane Vereen had 5 more yards, it would have gone Digi's way, but Randy pulled it out.
