The praise this show gets really makes me want to check it out, but it seems like Rectify is an incredibly slow, contemplative, and depressing burn. I'm not sure if I can handle that sort of thing, ties to Justified aside.

I'm in Digital Love with this comment thread.

I'm a huge Strokes fan so "Instant Crush" is, unsurprisingly, one of my favorite tracks on the album.  I don't even care that the riff is very Layla-esque.

Didn't one of the Daft Punk guys produce Kavinsky's album?

"Precise muscle control"

I also enjoy the episode of the cartoon where Batman gets Braniac'd via a spike in his telephone receiver (ow?) and Superman comes to Gotham and poses as Batman, using his super speed to appear behind thugs as the real Batman is wont to do.

Agreed. Frankly, I'm SHOCKED when I hear about how beloved Kristen Wiig was/is in the SNL pantheon. She had some of the worst characters in recent memory, and it's sorta like she won points just for being there for a long time.  But Hader could make nonsense work: the Italian talk show host, Vincent Price, etc.

I guess she should have been using earplugs?  Or be like that one dude in Linkin Park with the headphones over his ears.

It left a weird taste in my mouth because it kept being positioned as the lead single for that album in that weird "look at us!" major label debut thing that some bands do.

I already saw that stupid E! show the thieves got, where the main drama was the rich girls going to a party and being confronted by their victims and still acting like shits about it.

You are now aware that the guy who plays J Walter Weatherman is dead.

I dunno, Mob Doctor was pretty funny.

Glad to see that they wanted to hang a lampshade on their inability to do anything with Winston. It's a shame they didn't take that as an opportunity to….do something with Winston.

Shows like 2 Broke Girls and HIMYM are very much the product of writers who either used to live in New York a very long time ago or visited a long time ago. The references are often just a smidge too out of date to be accurate.

You think Mindy Project's location has anything to do with where New Girl is set? Like they didn't want to draw too many comparisons to that OTHER Fox show about the single professional girl just trying to make it in this crazy world etc etc?

Does Lorne Michaels have any pull on networks other than NBC? Cause I'm beginning to think his "stranglehold" on NBC shows is starting to mean less and less as the network programs itself into oblivion.

Toss up: "The Mother" from HIMYM or "Girl" from Once?

I haven't even heard Comedown Machine, but…yes.

Damn, Volchok looking straight Zoolander in that image.

Todd wants The Mindy Project to be more like Seinfeld, and then David Sims will keep reviewing it.
