Again, at no point did I say there was anything wrong with them or their careers. They're doing fine. Good for them! I'm not criticizing them. I am just saying that Scrubs would hold a higher place in the cultural zeitgeist if one of its performers had gone on to become a huge star.

Yes.

I'm not saying the members of the cast had their careers implode after Scrubs, just that they haven't gone on to bigger things.

I wasn't trying to make anyone feel like they need to defend their opinions on the show. And I thought the self-parody line was a bit much, which is why I didn't try to defend that — I only said I don't disagree on half-remembered.

I do. My comment wasn't about AV Club specifically.

I'd buy the "only half-remembered" part. It was well thought of at the time, but it didn't seem to have much cultural staying power. Most of its stars have not gone on to bigger things, it doesn't get analyzed anymore, it's not referenced frequently. I mean, look at other niche bubble comedies like Arrested

Can't believe the article didn't mention Last of the Steam Powered Trains by the Kinks.

The stockbroker lines is one of the most hilarious in the movie, though, and Gleason delivers it perfectly. The only thing better is, following the gunship explosion, his deadpan delivery of "We're gonna need some new FBI guys." And after Gruber falls to his death, his equally deadpan,"I hope that wasn't a hostage."

And unlike some other Robin Hoods, he can speak with a proper English accent.

There's no one like him. There's only him.

Jack, on the other hand, was a complete rehash of The Godfather.

Little known fact: after years of struggling in Hollywood to find another role after his breakout success in Aladdin, Genie was eventually cast in Watchmen.

Well, it was 9 years between Ghosts of Mars and The Ward, so… maybe in a few more years.

The alien was a beachball! Doesn't get much more shoestring than that.

And it was so unjustifiable, too. Nowadays we look back and that movie is rightly hailed as a true classic of both horror and science fiction. Amazing effects work, a bunch of great character actors, and a perfectly captured sense of rising dread and paranoia. The initial critical reaction to that movie was shameful.

You can't see the stars, love, it's the ceiling. Also, it's day.

What didn't make sense about it?

I do, sometimes, because the convenience fee isn't very high and I do like the convenience of being able to arrive to the theatre 2 minutes before previews start and already have my tickets purchased.
