I agree that it's not totally ridiculous to assume Martin will live to 85. But what about 90? 95? 100?

That's actually the best idea I've seen related to this discussion. Conan was emotionally and psychologically damaged by the whole Tonight Show fuckery, and his new show definitely shows signs of weariness, cynicism, and bitterness. I think if he returned, in a savior-esque role, to his original home, he could find…
The only thing I didn't like about this episode is the fact that Sally and Joan didn't get to have a conversation. I would've loved to see that interaction. But with the Don/Sally thing for the rest of the episode the show more than made up for that earlier absence and I pretty quickly forgot about it. This was a…
You should check the youtube version. Good stuff. Same channel has a brilliant parody of Worldstar rappers, Tubesteak, if you're into that sort of thing.

Harris Wittels is a podcast legend for a reason.
I just saw this movie last week, and thought it was amazing. It's the first Paul Thomas Anderson film I've seen; where do I go next?
Can't recommend it enough, especially if you like other stuff by McCarthy. So far I've read this, THE ROAD, CHILD OF GOD, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, and SUTTREE, and this is by far the best. It takes all of his best strengths and pushes them to the max, from themes to style to character. It's the rare and wonderful…
BLOOD MERIDIAN by Cormac McCarthy. I've read it a couple of times, and there's always something new. But, more importantly, there's never anything that doesn't belong. The story grinds along to the point that sometimes just reading it can seem torturous (given how utterly bleak almost every sentence is), but every…
