Thank you for working "hunky Nostradamus" into this review. It was my favorite thing to come out of summer press tour. That phrase alone is what will make me watch this show.

OK, but SNL is an American program, watched mostly by Americans, where there are more black women than Asian women. Still, your point stands that every minority is underrepresented on the show.

I don't doubt that? But are you trying to imply that hiring a black female cast member would somehow derail this storied institution? I'm not asking that they change anything about the show itself, just that they, y'know, maybe look into hiring a black woman sometime. I simply believe it would open up more…

"Very popular"? I consider myself a pretty big comedy nerd, and I had only heard of three of the six. Going by that standard, there are plenty of "very popular" black internet sketch comics as well.

I'm not really saying we need a Sleepy Hollow parody (although it could be fun), but the fact is that by not reflecting the diversity of our current world and culture, SNL is completely limiting its abilities to skewer said culture.

It would be less of an issue if SNL didn't often skewer real-world politics/people/shows/etc. Not having a diverse cast limits what they can actually make sketches about. The fact that they don't have a black woman means Michelle Obama, our FIRST LADY, will never be brought up in a sketch. They cannot parody Scandal.…

Everyone keeps saying they can't name a single black female comedian, but were you able to name the current SNL featured players before they were cast? Are you able to now? There are tons of relatively unknown black comedians out there. Lorne just hasn't bothered casting any.
