Yeah, the concept is so broad that part of it is embedded in the very act of watching anything involving romantic relationships. I have enjoyed watching certain couples get together on TV shows. I'd always considered this "paying attention" but I guess it counts as shipping.

Can't reply to mollymauk for some reason. Not judgement or anything, but I think it's strange that you wouldn't laugh much at AD. One of things I enjoyed about revisiting the series was catching jokes I missed the first time because I was laughing over them.
