I got a little excited, thinking we would see him at the party, only for him to not show. Which I found odd at the end of the episode since Walter is the number 3 partner in Queen Consolidated and genuinely wants his adopted son to succeed.

I think he is referring to the whole black menace thing. The Mayor's gang was straight out of a hacky 80s/90s movie. In 46min, the only person of color on the side of good, Digg, basically zero agency. From the "black driver" comments a few episodes back, I think the show is a little aware of it, but it is still a…
No doubt.
So Roy had a real Arsenal there…
Sure it can. You just need to make your suck-awesome axis logarithmic.
I agree. I don't want this show to be realistic. I want it to be believable enough. It's almost there.
This is a trend that has been true since the invention of writing. It's the greatest flaw of ever increasing mass literacy.
@AmaltheaElanor:disqus It would be better if they had taken what was decent about that movie and took it to the next 5 films.
I found it even more weird that Mike would think his wife would give a shit given everything we learned about them and her in the pilot. Seeing that it was, as @avclub-9cd818ea56273170b63f339aa6f34bca:disqus noted, Standard Generic Sitcom Plot #32, it was at this point that I turned off my TV.

@avclub-0ae7484a9f3bbd2a21df420050c032ae:disqus The general consensus of any current generation is to pretty much believe that they are the pinnacle of human achievement. Setting it in the 90s would have only come off as self righteous, not illuminating. 50's Odotor-In-Chief's explanation about believability sounds…
"Okay the love with Kira part makes the "living among gorillas" analogy weird"

indeed. But not quite the ONLY vorta artist….
So Stalin is Darkseid?
I think io9 partially mentioned this but the real serious issue is that Nemesis is one in a now long tradition of pitting the Enterprise against a larger seemingly super-awesome ship that comes from out of absolutely nowhere. They are basically remaking First Contact over and over and over….
Looks like it will still be free on hulu, so If you can stand weird commercial breaks and an iffy interface.
The AV Club
There is also him chasing an egg because it got to Lenny before he could and also appears to be an old member of the Stonecutters. This ends an age old argument….
It's not an orange, it's treel caviar.
