"The "good guys" rig the football game for no special reason—what is the point of that?"
I just find it amusing how Altman painted this idea of "M*A*S*H" the series being conservative and racist, yet I've seen people rag on the show for being almost "treasonous" in its liberal, leftwing viewpoint and its sympathetic portrayals of North Korean characters. In fact, you could argue that the show was…

The first and only time I saw the "Stargate" film was on a plane flight in 1995. I didn't much care for it, but that might be because I was depressed at the time. The previous movie on the flight was "Star Trek Generations" and I was still moping over the death of James T. Kirk.
I was sceptical about the show at first because I loved the film, but it surprised me. I only watched the first couple of seasons, though - I think it stopped getting shown in Australia, or they took it off for a while and I never checked to see if it came back. But the last thing I remember about it was that they…
Edited to remove a duplicate post…
I guess the film could have been construed as anti-war at the time of its release, inasmuch as, coming out as it did during the Vietnam era, if you were going to eschew jingoism and portray the army as an insane asylum, you're throwing your lot in with the anti-war crowd. Although I think if you look at the film on…
"Chastain" is a cross between "chastity" and "stain." It's the madonna-whore complex in surname form.
Corey Feldman wouldn't like it, that's for sure.
I think there's a touch of the conservative squire in David Mitchell's personality, but his actual politics are definitely leftist. He writes a column for "The Guardian," after all…
I read somewhere that Louise Jameson actually offered to appear in "The Five Doctors" (which would have made sense, since Leela was already on Gallifrey, and her presence would have given the episode more representation from the Fourth Doctor era), but JN-T ruled against it because he bore a grudge over Jameson's…
Seth Brundle? He was an insect who dreamt he was a man and loved it, but now the dream is over and the insect is awake, etc etc.
I love "MASH" the film and "M*A*S*H" the TV series both. I've seen the movie about a gazillion times, and I find it fucking hilarious, but there's something about it that puzzles me. It has this reputation for being an "anti-war" film, but I don't see it. Certainly, the film is anti-military, or at least anti-military…
No mention of "Weird Science"?
I wonder why they bothered re-arranging the theme so damn often. I get why they did it when the cast changes necessitated elongating the opening sequence, but most of the time it seemed kinda pointless.
The only thing I know about "Mr Belvedere" is that "Sledge Hammer!" and "Married…with Children" used to make scathing remarks about it.
