Such a good call!! And even though shape shifters don't arrive till Season 2, it makes the introduction of Mr. Jones in S1E7 all the more powerful. Also, it makes Peter's joke at the Opera House about killing a guy by cutting him in half (which was mr. Jones in in S1 finale, right?) all the more ironic.
