I was just listening to this last week for the first time in a decade at least. It plays much more like a greatest hits now- I forget how many radio songs of the mid to late 90's come from this one set! It's not all killer, but it is a fun ride hopping from Dre to Snoop to Nate Dogg to K-Ci and JoJo to Meth and Red on

Welcome Back is maybe the best out of nowhere debut of last year for me- it did get upgraded to an ongoing so it must be doing okay, but I've been really surprised it hasn't gotten more love.
There's a Sabbath Bloody Sabbath lp somewhere in that first issue or two that made me le sigh.

I actually liked the new Swamp Thing- the art was great and the writing had a good pulpy feel. I could understand someone feeling it was dated, but that style actually made it a winner for me.

Agreed COMPLETELY! Even breaking it up over the weekend it feels like it's a bit heavy. A whole weekend! Madness!

I wonder if this is going to get some sort of home video release? I saw Cinefamily in LA is playing this all weekend, but MAN that running time. Even broken up over 2 days it feels like such an investment. This review has really made me want to see it though, especially now that I see Jean-Pierre Leaud is in it.
edit:

On the F-bomb in this book: it was incredibly period-appropriate, for better or worse. I took it as a direct extension of the period setting, as it dovetailed rather well with the Monster Squad poster a few pages prior, a film with similarly casual adolescent bigotslang.

Elastica and the Fall made music together? What was I doing in the 90s?!? Thanks Sean- can't wait to hear these!
When I finally raised Pink Flag I could not believe how Elastica-y so much of it is! As someone who loved their singles at the time but was too young to be reading NME, I wasn't surprised to read that Wire

I was trying to correct you, but I was up on the rooftop trying to shout it out..either way, I'm ready to go.

I'll have to check that out- I don't think I ever heard them!

Ha! The difference a single letter makes!
One of those vowels is getting paid too much..

Best Costello album post-Spike and still his last Great Record for me. This was the first Costello album I bought new with my own money as a young man, and I thought it would be the first in a tradition of new Elvis cds I bought day-1 and loved. Then he followed it up with North and Il Signo…
I did like Delivery Man a

amen brotha!

I liked their early stuff a lot- Orchestrated Rise to Fall and One Day I'll Be On Time. I was a big fan of Tristeza and some of the other rock bands he was in at the time.
Other good stuff like this from that era- Mercury Program, American Analog Set, etc.

His stuff was pretty great- he went from playing in hardcore bands like Locust and Swing Kids to making this mellow post-rocky type stuff. I was a big fan of his album One Day I'll be on Time.
His other band before Tristeza was pretty great as well- instrumental guitar stuff. I was such a sucker for this stuff back in

Yes.

Haven't heard this yet, but I did listen to Movie Music Volume 1 last week!
Strawberry Ann Switzerland belongs in a museum! Encapsulates so many strains of guitar-rock and stands on its own as a pretty and interesting song.
I was such a huge fan of Frame and Canvas at the time, but I go back and listen to the singles

Concurring that Nintendo ports are the way to go. I do have the PS port on my PS3, but the load times are tough to deal with. The GBA and 3DS ports are much better and more like what it was like on SNES.
If it's not available on the WiiU shop, it should be available on the Wii shop from

They're all great, but I'm of the opinion (or age) that VI is the best in the series. I've come around a bit on VII, but I've spent the last year or so playing through all of them again and as good as they all can be, VI is still my favorite.
