I'm actually with you on this one! I was comparing relative youth/energy of the films. I was absolutely floored by the forward momentum of The Warped Ones, and was thinking how this movie would've slayed me if I'd found it at 19 instead of, say, Breathless.
I actually like Marienbad much better than Breathless as

I think that amount is about a dollar more than the costs incurred when the stampede of advertisers pull funding after said Slayer song.
I actually first heard Slayer on the radio- it sounded like Satan's marching band. Reign in Blood on KNAC in the late 80s. What is this pummelling noise?

I appreciate the thoughtful response!
I think point 3 is the most relevant- especially the issue of safety. The industry has been running scared for over a decade at this point, if not longer. When the Superbowl comes along…well, I guess let's get Madonna. Sure, she hasn't had a bonafide hit since the early 2000s..but

"Probably as good an example of trap as you're going to get outside of the TNGHT EP"
Better than Admiral Ackbar?

Metal Gear taught me that the truck have started to move..

"Don't You Hate Pants?!?"

That's so hip to get your kid into the Sonics- I spent 20 years unbeknownst!
How many other people found them by wondering why James Murphy repeated their name 10 times at the end of Losing My Edge?

I just became an uncle yesterday, so I read this with anticipatory glee. Here's hoping my niece is more of a ATLiens type gal. (though speakerboxxx would suffice.)

Tweny years ago!
Okay, reach in the bag- you only get one hand!

Now let's get him to explain why in a world of exciting new releases and canonical reissues people are only buying Adele records.
Adele is fine, of course- I'll take her over something like Rihanna..but is she really the best thing pop culture has to offer?

Not optional- The Warped Ones! Finally making my way through the Kurahara Eclipse set and I was blown away by this film. Makes Breathless seem like Last Year at Marienbad by comparison! I can't remember the last film in which the camera-work and ecstatic energy made me dizzy.
Also been jamming on Costello- lots of This

The dream of the 90s is alive with Marah!
Does nostalgia increase exponentially? How will I feel coming across David the Gnome or Double Dare in 2045?
Also, how will I survive the Robot Apocalypse in 2036?

You're my best reader!

I don't really care whether bands do/don't get corporate sponsors, but what this sort of blatant jacking is pretty appalling.
Is the biggest bummer that there was probably a designer/intern/Yacht fan that sold them out and looked the other way? It seems unreasonable that some fuddy duddy succubus would draw their

Sometimes you just strike gold! I wasn't a HUGE fan but man that single with the high guitar note was a perfect comedown/stabilizer in the middle of an otherwise sweaty dj set.

Let 'em have it!

The scene where Walkin Phoenix kisses his converse was just incredibly riveting.

Our house watched it this weekend- incredibly divisive! I think the last movie we discussed to that degree was The Master, but that movie had so much more to unpack!
Whether it's about gender issues or not, most of the reactions seem pretty well divided by that line..

I'd just enacted a moratorium on Blu's until I worked through my backlog. It's like my crack dealer got my email address!

Solid as a rock- hope you were able to grab them! All three movies I could watch over and over..although Brazil can bum me out a bit!
