Fact: Operation Ivy holds up better than most Rancid and just about any third wave ska. Bad Town is an unknown anthem.

Saw this come out this morning- who buys these things? Would you really play these?
I like 7 inches and 45s just fine, but the thought of flipping 5-10 times to get through an album is insane! Isn't this why they invented 331/3 in the first place?
I'm happy to have Lets Go and Out Come the Wolves on vinyl. Lets leave it…

@GhaleonQ:disqus Happy to help- especially given the 10,000 jrpg's you've hipped me to!

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm trying to learn classical piano right now and I've been inhaling all the baroque pieces I could find!
I've been listening for to classical for years, but I'm still trying to learn all the composers/pieces/eras/etc. I'm still YEARS away from having favorite performances/renditions, so…

I think there's more of this sort of stuff going on now than there was in the 70's!
My gateway was a group called Emeralds- chasing their side projects led me down many bright paths: Outer Space, Mist, Mark McGuire's solo albums, Expo 70, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Oneohtrix Point Never.

100% 13 Chambers STILL sounds dirty, rugged, raw. They flowered over the next few years and I prefer all the solo albums but this album was indeed a gunshot heard around the hip hop world. The murky treble on this tape gives me chills!

I hated him all through the 90s (west coast) but Ready to Die is indeed pretty good. Juicy broke me (Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, when I was dead broke man I couldn't picture this)

Yeah for Pauline Oliveros! Just discovered her last year!
There's so many modern folks doing this sort of stuff- if anyone's interested, check out Emeralds, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Expo 70, etc. I love getting lost in spiralling arpeggios.

I have this record! I always loved that they call on the power of "electrons" to one-up all the other classical synth records predating it.
I'm a sucker for any synthery. You really had to be a physicist to operate synths back then. I drool just looking at the setup on the back sleeve.

This is what I hoped the Transplants record would sound like ten years ago! Still funny to think that this is Zach Hill's current muse, but I back him. I don't get aggro like I used to but if I ever need to this is the soundtrack!
