It does work as a great conversation starter when the article itself falls flat. I know I've read Gateways where I disagreed with the article (Tropicalia was a big one) but enjoyed the discussion below. If I'm in the dark about something I look to see what the fans below are heralding, or what the contrarian a-hole

The beat's my favorite part! It really reminds me of winter cold, the guitar/piano outro. A sweet and sublime minimalist backing with some damn-near poignant romance. It's a little silly, but MAN that song had me for years!

They don't even write their own songs!

Perfect Hair Forever might be my favorite adult swim property/era. All those stars/interests allinging to make something soo silly. In retrospect it really was a golden age.

Agreed. As I mentioned elsewhere- people that would never give Madvillian a chance or had a hard time getting it would be much better off starting with this album. Great mix of humour and heart. You miss out on DOOM production, but you get some of his best flows.
I remember being at Amoeba and choosing Geedorah over

At the time, it felt like the perfect meld of all of my passions, but it does start to grate a little bit after awhile. I think Nabin was right with postiing it as a binary to Geedorah as far as sad/silly.
It reminds me of the flow at the end of Madvillian with the Gooney Goo Goo Loony Coo Coo bit- it felt earned at

What about Viktor Vaughn? I broke a lot more people with that record than I ever did any of his others, regardless of critical acclaim.

His samples and overall aesthetic pull liberally from canned stings, horns, muzak etc. It really is the elevator's domain, but I could argue a mall association! Take the escalator to Charlotte Russe or Millers Outpost, add some Anita Baker funk, and spit some hot fury!
