I know! I remember hearing that he'd gotten better as a live act, but when I saw him in So Cal at the start of the tour it got pretty odd. After about twenty minutes he just started mumbling, strumming, etc. Really seemed to alienate everyone else in the room- including his band! They packed up and left and he kept

He's on Fire! Sean, let's talk about the Fall!

Saw the Buffalo 66 trailer and it gave me a hankering for Fragile- I know it's wrong, but it felt right.

I thought I would like Yeasayer a lot based of off seeing them live but their album never made it over my mental wall. I know I played it, but it all blurs together.
They and Bloc Party both gave me that "they're still making records?" thought, where I'm happy for the bands to continue on and I hope they're happy and

If you like warped pop, radio jingles, tape flutter, et. al. I'd recommend trying one of their earlier albums: House Arrest, Worn Copy, Doldrums, etc. I wasn't TOO keen on his last album, as a lot of his allure is built into the Tascam for me, but Round and Round was a bonafide hit! That chorus drops like a Moose!

I don't like them, but I give them the benefit of the doubt and blame it on age. Their earnestness grates a little, but I'll chalk that up to age as well. Maybe at 18 I would've been much more open, but at 28 I'd rather listen to Neutral Milk, Decemberists, etc. if I ever wanted that sort of twee-folk kick.

It's really made for a great democracy, where we're all stoked and we all go in blind. Still left in the bag- Island of Lost Souls, Night of the Hunter, Summer Interlude, House, Kiss Me Deadly, Andrei Rubelev and then it's time to start in on the ones that one of us has seen. (but others have not)

I had that feeling about it. I wasn't ready to give it the 5 star review, but it's not that I didn't like it either..it really weaves a strange magic. By the time you get to the Indian you really don't know what to think anymore. Its strangeness transcends any datedness, and it makes for an oddly moving experience.

Stoked on Raid- didn't make it out to the theatre for that one but told all of my accomplices. That seems like a recipe for an ass-kick night!
Where's Narrarator?!? I bought my first Bru-Rays in this last Criterion sale and I feel like I'm hooked into movie buying again! Our house all went and bought a few "rays" each,
