I ripped off the epilogue to that in every short story I wrote a a kid. Loved that story!

That was your first mistake..

Beck? Chick Correa thanks them on a lot of his lps..

Burn!!!

I buy vinyl, but only for my own enjoyment. If you like an artist, tell them so over a sandwich!

Agree completely. Tomorrow will probably make me pine for today, which is frightening!

I youtubes them after last week- terrible. It IS interesting that they would be considered mainstream rock, given the double bass drum usage. Bastardized frat house hardcore? I guess I really don't get why people listen to what they listen to.

*further love of oc ska of the mid 90s, denominational or otherwise* we sure had it good before everyone traded their two-tone for turtlenecks!

As someone who listens to electronic music, how can you discount the awesomeness of bleeps and bloops? You could talk arpeggiators and square waves, but isn't a large part of the appeal of synth-driven music the fact that it purely sounds great? Maybe it's being part of the NES generation, but I personally love bloops

It really was of it's time. I admittedly don't listen to it much anymore, but it was great fun at the time. The Col. is on point with his song choices. I really think a lot of similar pop/rock electro followed in their wake, to arguably bigger success. They were just really fun club music. Their Xmas Mix us still

What about G.G. Allin?

"Shave off your beard off!"

yes to ALL of you!

aaeeeerrrrrrt faaaahhhhhhhhhg!!!
We had a mean one of these a few months back! Nothing like a Dead Milkmen thread to get me a commentin'

I didn't know Suicide was an option..but could you really call them wimpy??

Punk Rock ruined my ability to hear soo many songs because of the glut of bad/ironic covers inherent to the genre.

I agree completely! I'm '83, but I remember seeing Depeche Mode on a KROQ Calendar in the mid 90s and being really surprised! I guess I was comparing him to Robert Smith, but I couldn't believe he was good looking! Brule would've called him a total hunk!

Cheshire Cat is snotty and too fast but hits a sweet, raw nerve. Dude Ranch was the height of what they could do as that band. Everything after was kinda Blink Mk. II - cleaned up, aquabatty. Enema of the State really broke them through and followed up on Dammit's lead-in, but it really was a different band.

Blink were pretty terrible from the start! Growing up in Orange County, it seemed that they were always playing, and that they were always terrible! They were snotty immature brats from the start- I remember catching them at the Vandals first Xmas show (with Save Ferris and Diesel Boy as well!) and they were just

I know there are plenty of us who grew up listening to them and still carry fond memories. I get pretty nostalgic listening to Cheshire Cat myself..
