If I'm not mistaken (and I very much could be, so someone else feel free to correct me), I think that most of the miscellaneous, non-story comics that appeared in the various individual issues of Acme Novelty Library were compiled into the massive "Acme Novelty Library Annual Report to Shareholders" that was released

His sketchbooks are really great; they also showcase a ton of throw-away strips that rank amongst his most hilarious and depressing.

Chris Ware is perhaps my favourite author and artist ever, and this book cannot be praised enough. I'm loathe to admit it, but I've never related to an artist's work as profoundly as I do Ware's. His intense portrayals of loneliness, regret, and paralyzing self-reflection are some of the most affecting, tragic, and

I honestly can't see how saying "wouldn't it be funny if this girl got raped" could ever be funny. Not only does it passive aggressively encourage one of the most violating acts imaginable, but it's also the laziest, most obvious 'joke' possible ("someone's offended by me saying this? I'll say it again then!

I'm looking forward to hearing this. I felt that Wind's Poem was a bit of a weaker effort (by Elverum standards), but I'm hoping this album moves away from his ostensible 'black metal' influences.

There are very few albums that I listened to in 1998 that I still frequently listen to even now, but The Shape of Punk To Come is one of them. It's held up remarkably well, and I'm admittedly pretty excited about this news.

Nate Powell is such a sweetheart; I've met him a few times in both comic and  musical contexts and each time he's been really friendly and gracious.

Wait; doesn't the review say that the world DOES scale up with you?

It really shouldn't be that surprising. Listening to even a little bit of Clipse makes it abundantly clear that he and Malice are pretty smart guys.

B-side?
I like this song a lot. I really wish they included it on I Am Very Far, which I found to be a bit lacking as an Okkervil album.

I similarly found Swallow Me Whole to lose its way sometimes, but I still liked it a lot. I must admit a slight preference for the shorter stories and mini-vignettes that characterize his older work more (like in Tiny Giants and Please Release). Still, I'm very much looking forward to Any Empire; I'll

No, Libretto is located near Dundas/Ossington. I think it's only been around for a few years; it was a pioneering fixture in that area's crazy restaurant boom that has sadly helped to gentrify the area.

Pizza Pizza is my favourite of the huge chain store pizzas (i.e., Pizza Pizza, Pizza Hut, Pizza Nova, Dominos, Little Caesars, etc), but I'll readily admit that it's terrible pizza. I think my weird fondness for Pizza Pizza stems from my growing up in the suburbs and eating it all the time in my youth. But eating
