Left me throw another vote in for Black Sheep Boy as being their best album. They don't have a weak album to their name, but I do think that The Stand Ins suffered from an acute case of the diminishing returns. I haven't heard the new album yet, but I'm pleased to hear that it moves away from the sound of the last

No Hackers?
For shame!

Though Billy Bragg is more charming and has better politics than Hicks.

"Less emotional"
I haven't heard this album yet, but I just want to comment that I do miss those "gut-punch, scrawl-the-lyrics-on-your-forearms moments" in Bright Eyes songs. As much as I realize that their disappearance was an inevitable result of Oberst's aging and general evolution as an artist, those over-the-top

I approve
I like Tokyo Police Club quite a bit. They're certainly not remotely ground-breaking, but they play a pretty solid brand of catchy guitar pop. I'm not entirely sure why they're treated with such dismissiveness and disdain on these boards.

Also, you could experience real racism and then wish harder than ever that you were (presumably) white again.

I was going to make a comment about this movie if no one else did. Great movie, and both he and Helena Bonham-Carter are absolutely amazing in it.

Ugh
That latter running game video encapsulates one of my most hated things: this new breed of 'nerdy machismo,' or whatever you want to call it, that has accompanied the digital age. One of their key traits is a mistaking of swearing, loudness, and all-around obnoxiousness for wit and humour. It has infiltrated so

Yeah, it was a bit odd to hear someone not only say that they're still fascinated by Dexter 3 seasons in, but also praise how well the "characters are drawn." I watch Dexter (or at least I did until calling it quits after this most recent season), but I'd be hard-pressed to think of another show that has such

Whoops, I guess I should've read the second page before posting this.

Cobain
It was Guitar Hero that used Kurt Cobain's likeness, not Rock Band. Perhaps this seems like a trivial point, and indeed it is, but Rock Band needs to be given credit for actually treating music with a certain degree of reverence (unlike Guitar Her0).

*get TO sign the wall

Unfair
Why didn't Rodney get the sign the wall?

Amazing
Given that it was Andrew W.K. I already had high hopes going in, but he still easily surpassed all those expectations.

Yeah, Hedberg actually swore a lot. Never in an overly 'crass' manner (the previously mentioned cemetery joke was probably his most racy), but his live comedy was full of emphasis- and adjective-swearing.

I genuinely liked Cassadaga. It was certainly one of his weakest efforts, but there were still some great songs on it. A mediocre Bright Eyes album is still a generally good album.

I'm posting late here just to express my incredulity with the comment that this is "one of the smartest shows on TV." This show is outlandishly dumb; the writing, the beat-you-over-the-head exposition, the plot gaps, the poorly drawn characters, the gradual removal of all moral ambiguity, etc…

I actually think Pusha's verse on Runaway complements the song really well. It's cocky as hell, but it's mixed with a certain self-awareness and weariness. There's a sense that he understands he's bought into a certain hollowness and that, despite his proclamations to the contrary, there's something despicable in

Best guests
Everyone's talking about Minaj's verse, which admittedly destroys. But coming second has to be Pusha T; his guest verses are pretty great too (particularly on So Appalled).

Agreed. He still appears from time to time, but it seems he's mostly given up his YouTube fame.
