I agree. It's an entirely underrated 80s teen picture.

Or Electric Avenue.
When I rewatch it tonight, I'll pay particular attention to this point. Thanks for sharing!
Bless your Grandma.
"… sitting around sipping scotch and chortling." I managed a laugh while my heart was breaking.
Dang. I was like, is Jason Lee in this movie? It doesn't look like his sort of vehicle. <click> Nope.
"It looks like I'm havin' a good time, but any fool can tell
That this honky tonk heaven really makes me feel like hell."
RIP Hag. One of the very best
Well, there's no greater 'wake-n-bake' program in the history of programs than the Joel MST3Ks. Gold standard stuff. And after hearing Allen Havey call Sting, Der Stingle, I've never called him anything else.
upvote for Gillian Welch ref. God, I love that record.

Hudsucker Proxy is my favorite Coen brothers movie. When I was sitting there watching Hail Caesar! on the second go round, I was struck by the Carter Burwell score. It was so beautifully reminiscent of the Hud's score, my heart swelled.
It also just occurred to me that I've posted maybe three times in the AV Club and…
AND Patricia Clarkson and Amy Ryan is season 2! Killer guests, all.
I loved to cold open and how it covered the (approximate) year between the end of season two and the beginning of the new season. It covered the seasons and the holidays.
Spot on re, The Hudsucker Proxy, probably my favorite CBM.Criminally underrated. I will never understand any of the negativity regarding Jennifer Jason Leigh's performance, it's stunning. I guess, only a numbskull thinks he knows things about things he knows nothing about. <twirls index="" finger="" in="" air="">

right here, dude.
Gloria has crashed my 'favorite character' list in a big way.
Thank you for these excellent recaps and commentary, what a fantastic resource for this quasi-binger. I started watching Better Call Saul with its pilot episode and having never seen Breaking Bad was a bit underwhelmed. On a friend's suggestion, I started BB around the airing of the third ep of BCS, hoping to finish…
Bloodline is next for me after finishing a non-stop watching of Breaking Bad. I watched all of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt last Sunday, this show really picked up around ep 5 and finished strong. Also, I'm planning to watch the last ep of season 2 of Broad City for a fourth time tonight.
