If you haven't heard it, get ahold of Daryl Hall's Sacred Songs. Some of the Exposure material is repurposed there to interesting effect. It's a hidden gem of an album.
It's a great example of Becker and Fagan at their smartassiest. I go back and forth between the album version and the quirky demo that's on the Citizen Steely Dan box as the best take.
When "A Girl Like You" was new, I remember being excited that I could match that guitar sound by overdriving an old Teac cassette deck (inherited from my dad, who was once a kinda-sorta audiophile…this had 1/4" input jacks and everything) directly into my shitty little four track!
