Much as I loved the Sopranos, how many episodes were "dude tries to get out of the life and pays with his life, because no one can escape" or "dude flirts with the romance of gangster life and pays with his life/livelihood because he didn't realize what he was getting into?"

Gah! ANOTHER plothole from this season!

Who ever would have believed that Trump would get this far in securing the GOP nomination for president?

That!

You're not gentle, herpes…

I don't think he was as bad as some say, but yeah, I have to admit most of the scenes with his wife lacked any chemistry at all.

Vaughn was a dude playing a dude pretending to be another dude.

Yeah, how dare this reviewer not fall into lock-step with all the other reviewers on other sites!

Yeah, the central story of S1 - Rust's coming to terms with his past - was a bit submerged. But damn it was just delicious listening to his monologues.

I'd agree with this. Better plot, far more ambition…but that chemistry Harrelson and McConaughey had wasn't to be found this time around.

So what was the writer supposed to do? Damned if he did, damned if he didn't. It's not like cliches aren't indulged in even this site's most favored shows.

I thought it was a bit from column A, a bit from column B.

If you think large swathes of the military and police aren't still homophobic, I don't know what to say…

Thanks for pointing out how badly I've fooled myself for liking this season! Man, if it weren't for people like you, I don't know how I'd get outta bed in the morning!

Thanks for letting me know I'm not being honest with myself by thinking I enjoyed the show, Guest! How the fuck would I live without you?

The bingewatching comment is spot-on. This seems to happen with a lot of shows: The Sopranos got guff when it blew up because people watched the DVDs and got impatient with meticulous, week-by-week plotting; so did The Wire; and so on…

Frank didn't want to hand over the suit because he had a couple million in diamonds in his pocket.

That seems to be a trend in reviews of everything, everywhere lately.

Maybe it was his good luck talisman for the game. God knows I used to drag along some weird props to appease the dice gods for all-night sessions of Squad Leader or D&D.

Mrs HR and I used to have one, too…it broke years ago. We were so happy when it appeared in S1, which we started watching while patching up some difficult personal crap. Rebonding over a nihilistic detective show….
