I play Civilization by waiting for the latest Civilization to come out, sitting around for about ten minutes thinking, "Well, I should really play Civilization," and then thinking about how long it will take and how many games I'm halfway through on Steam or whatever and then I don't play Civilization.

That's a little funny. But also… I kind of feel for him because that's like if people followed around Steven Wright and repeated his entire act over top of him as a form of praise. It seems like such an awkward, socially inept fan response to that sort of act it's almost demented.

My friends and I have always been Skynyrd fans and some of them had a stoner rock band (not a cover band) that put together a version of "Freebird" they could play with fewer people than the original track so when some idiot would shout that at them in the middle of their fuzzy drony set the singer would just count

They did what pretty much any crowd who likes a performer enough to pay money to see them would do if the performer said something into the microphone about how he was doing terrible and would do better next time and left: they chanted to get him back because they didn't agree he was doing a bad job.

Because his emotional instability became part of the spectacle years ago?

Yeah, he's pretty skilled at working the press, even during moments that might wreck other people's careers.

He's entertaining. Even this shit is entertaining. This is the most read story on A.V. Club right now.

Would that it were so simple

I'd go so far as to say your crowd got more of the pure Kanye West experience than anyone other crowd on the tour so far. You got a story out of it you'll be able to tell your whole life.

Kanye West opts to triumphantly float over crowd after canceling concert mid-show

"House of Quark" is the only good Ferengi episode, ever. It's far from the only good episode with this show's Ferengi characters, but it's the only good Ferengi episode.

Staying value-neutral about the event: this implies that most famous people become so in a non-"random" way involving collective social deliberation.

The "generation" in general is more of a pitch idea for unscientific marketing desk jockeys than anything real, but for whatever it's worth, the babies who were born into the post-WWII era of the U.S. grew up to vote, along with the majority of the country, for Richard Nixon, and their point of view on issues hasn't

Interesting fact: the vote you cast in a federal election in the United States is secret… but whether or not you cast a vote in that election is public record.

"Anonymous" voting (i.e., the secret ballot) doesn't imply the electoral process always benefits if you refuse to tell people who you're going to vote for, or have voted for.

Etta Candy is, by any stretch of the imagination, an obscure character.

John Barrowman's not a cyborg, but my mother thinks he is.

He was the pretty man on that British thing! His doo-dad made a square.

Pine will make an excellent damsel-in-distress. The role of Steve Trevor is, ideally, one for an actor who can look adorably panicked as he sinks helplessly into quicksand, and Pine surely fits the bill. (Personally, I always imagined it would be Seann William Scott.)
