Folks, this article title is on par with "we have a Matt Damon problem" for the trailer for The Martian.
Stupid morons, wow, you got that wit honed to a razor's edge. You're ready to fight the Commies!
Keep rocking, Grandpa.
The crankiness of slightly earlier Moore is a pleasure in itself, but it can get eye-bugging at times in From Hell, or Swamp Thing, or V.
I always wondered who put together the trailer for "Watchmen", exactly. That was probably the best adaptation of that book that will ever be made. The trailer, I mean.
To say nothing of the way he's lit, shot, the composition, etc. They might as well have put him in an SS uniform, when he's supposed to be the perfect cross between Brad Pitt and Steve Jobs with the apparent likeability of Jesus Christ.
I can't go to bat for Snyder when taking on this particular adaptation was probably always a bad idea, but for whatever it's worth, the book's version of Ozymandias's plan depends on an entire island of bonafide telepathic and telekinetic psychics that otherwise have nothing to do with the story. It's the weakest part…
You need an editor.
Well, yeah, of course they're not leaving Fox, Wolverine's the only Marvel property they can sell. Like I said on the other comments here, if the deal is made, it will be over including Jackman as the character in a Disney film. Disney won't settle for less for a character that's still less well-known worldwide than…
I really want the explanation to be the Occam's razor that Cyclops' sappy speech was so badly received that everyone wants to kill all the mutants now
I am waiting for them to declare Wolverine "the first Inhuman".
Nope, not a contradiction at all. They don't want to promote Fox's movies, so they're cordoning off the X-Men books for later use when the weather clears.
Contrary to popular belief, Disney doesn't make money off promoting Fox's films in competition with their own. The deal they cut with Sony was, I feel, more of a lifeblood issue: Spider-Man remains a universally recognized pop culture image even after 50 years. Wolverine's as close as the X-Men get to that.
I liked the new Runaways book, and had really no choice but to enjoy Siege given the roster behind it, but as for the main title, Hickman's writing has always been sappy and kind of a mess, and as for the Inhumans, I don't think even Kirby cared about them for very long.
It was probably put on the board but nixed as marketing for Fox. And they'd have a point, because in a few months here, Fox is going to slap an "X" on everything possible to sell Bryan Singer's last movie in the series.
I feel that, soon enough, Fox is going to cut a loose deal with Disney like Sony did, and this whole era is going to seem embarrassing. No one at all wants this. Not even people who watch S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agreed. As a telling example, look at the Ant-Man book.
I think it's adorable that you think it's a "conspiracy" when Disney winds down crap that pumps up Fox and cranks up crap that cross-promotes their films.
The rough truth is that superhero comics just aren't funny. The things that superhero fans find funny about superheroes in comics aren't funny to many other people. They're either cutesy and pandering or obscure and alienating to the general reader.
