Did you tell this poor woman these things?
Did you tell this poor woman these things?
I feel like it would be cruel to introduce someone to comics through Rob Liefeld apologetics. That's the Holocaust denialism of comics journalism.
A good one? Yes, in a second.
I liked Kingdom Come, which I read as an adult with little knowledge of DC Comics. Mainly, I was interested in this Captain Marvel guy, who was some sort of magical counterpart to Superman. I feel like reading more DC Comics made me like the book less, not more.
No offense, but how is Action Comics #1 not on the list? That's an incredible introduction to a character, on its own merits, even if it hadn't birthed the entire sub-sub-sub-genre in the story. Read that book. It's strangely . . . political. It's also accessible and it will make you want to read more Superman comics.
I wouldn't have gone back on it if I were her, everything she said and did was pretty cool.
It's sad when a director explains that some of the worst parts of his bad movie were supposed to be more important.
How did it encapsulate the movie?
Webb sounds like a good sport, at least. Maybe too much of one if he heard that resurrection idea and didn't shout it down. That's one of the better things about superhero movies versus superhero comic books: people can stay dead.
LOL
It's rough, for the same reason that they keep trying to make Superman and Wonder Woman happen. Someone is always gonna look at all that money already made and be like, "That's me"
Only real improvement I would have made to the movie is to make Spider-Man a little meaner and dumber. In those old comic books, he was always doing stupid crap on impulse and regretting it later… breaking dates because he was mad, breaking shit because he wasn't thanked properly for helping people. That made his…
Some nitpick you read off YouTube, more like.
I don't like it either, but like the other poster, I can sit down and name you a lot of superhero movies I like. Follow?
Seconded without hesitation. It was a movie for superhero fans who like people.
Mad Max destroyed with its villains. I never doubted their monstrousness, nor their motives, nor the possible world where they and many other people would choose their path over another. I can't remember the last time that happened with a movie where the villain wore freak makeup.
You know, I sit down and I think about it, and it has to be Project: CARS. It's a simple game, and no one will ever consider it a great game, but I've always been happier with the Need for Speed engines than with the series, and this game is exactly what I want: the Madness engine, stripped down, so when I sit down to…
I didn't know what that was, but I looked it up and it checks out
Yup. Same thing as ever, with any struggle, I imagine. People start talking like we saw them at rallies or at demos when were younger, or even recently, when you didn't risk getting the shit beaten out of you. They talk about how they always supported this, blah blah blah, aren't I great? I mean, I'm so smart! It's…
Makes perfect sense to me. Economic class does not forgive. Tell her people from the Internet think she's funny.
