I was in college from ‘03-07'. Can confirm we still had dorm lounges too. Ours were sad and pathetic, but nevertheless still there.

Until you get stranded and go to eat them and find the tin is full of buttons.
my apologies - I think I was a little triggered by the “joyless puritan” comment and conflated your comments with theirs. We’re good!
With the Omicron variant creating a rise in COVID cases, more and more people are also getting tested, which has led to longer waiting times for results as testing sites are overwhelmed. All of that combined makes it pretty obvious that being fully vaccinated is the best way to go.
Just fyi, you forgot to remove an editing note about halfway down the article. It’s in bold.
Most of the petulant comments about it I’ve seen are from folks who were upset that the tag didn’t have a hook from some upcoming Marvel property. I personally loved it. It captured how I would imagine the Broadway theater community would interpret the Avengers pretty perfectly (although I have to say that my…
In the episode, the owl flies away unharmed when the tree falls and the miniature truck just stands as a dark joke (Clint mentions that he doesn’t know what to do with them now, meaning they’ll probably stay shrunk), but Scott says there would’ve been a scene where the owl picks up the truck and carries it off to…
Ok - I thought I was crazy when I read this because that IS what happens in the episode. About 32 minutes in. She shrinks the van, he makes the Scott quip, and then the owl scoops up the van and flies away.
James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson have also been on the show since the beginning!
It is ground up freeze-dried corn kernels and I do usually buy it online. Though as in the article it’s perfectly reasonable to use cornmeal too - it just gives them a bit more texture.
Rebuttal from the Vanity Fair article regarding: “I have never physically come at anyone, for any reason, so that I find terribly confusing and untrue”
Why not now? What is there to gain today that wouldn’t be gained two years ago or two years from now?
maybe they were at a place in their healing that they could talk about it, and seeing his face so much recently made them want to finally speak out. the thing with sexual violence is that it can take decades before you begin to process it, and instead you just cope with it as best you can. I hope one day I have the…
the old school, thick-skinned comedian mindset (AKA “fuck em if they can’t take a joke”) strikes again. “Back in the 70's if I said you had nice tits, no one EVER got mad at me!” Times change buddy, unlike some comedians.
“[A]s a comedian, if somebody is offended by what I say, all I can say is, I’m sorry. OK? I have never physically come at anyone, for any reason, so that I find terribly confusing and untrue,” Garlin said.
I just can’t get over that response. It isn’t that common to get investigated by HR, yet the fact that he has gone through three years in a row seems just shrug-worthy to him.
“There has been an HR investigation on me the past three years. HR has come to me three years in a row for my behavior on set”
The Goldbergs is definitely set in the 1980's. Garlin may be the biggest name on the cast, but is a pretty minor character in the show. Murray can just be assumed to be watching TV in his underwear and not engaging with anyone and not much will change with the show.
On a percentage basis they went up about the same, but since eating out often costs at least 4 or 5 times what it does to eat in, that means the cost of dining out went up a lot more.
It was the kind of profile where the writer doesn’t have to do much to illustrate who the subject is. He or she just has to turn the tape recorder on and let the subject talk. So many of the quotes come off in print as either not very self aware or as affectations. To wit:
