There certainly was a lot to like about the film! And yeah one thing was the real sincere passion I could see between the actors (damn it, RIP Boseman) and director for (most of) the material and the significance of the film. It really felt like an earnest celebration, with a palpable warmth that probably only exists

I’m sure Martin Freeman gets tired of playing somewhat baffled guys trying to catch up with other swifter characters, but he was not well cast there, and it didn’t help that his character’s role didn’t seem very well thought out.

Damn, not sure why it autocorrected from Quill to Quinn. Quill is a real word, damnit!!!

CVS and Walgreens in my area is the same with the register/self-check line-formation area demarcated by rows of small impulse-purchase type items. Stop & Shop is doing their level best to renovate their stores to match. They (and CVS in some locations) also have some traditional candy racks immediately in front of the

I’ve been thinking of getting a cart like that for a while, because thanks to my kitchen having three doors I have a severe lack of counter space, though still double what I had in my previous apartment (it’s no surprise I take on bigger kitchen projects now than I did in the old one). I’ve had one on my Amazon

Seconded heartily on the use of Tajin, though I often mix in a little extra kosher or bottom of the salt salt cellar fine flake sea salt for this use.

I love BD Wong, and I have a few friends in his orbit from joint projects and they all to a person think he’s as wonderful off-screen as on.

And you can smoke while you’re doing it.

I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed. Can you ever just be whelmed?

Ken Jennings.  All they had to do was hire Ken Jennings.

Scuzzy things from someone with a notably scuzzy personal life?

Yes. This was specifically given to him as a character trait to capture both his desperation to appear hip and completely failing at it every time. THIS VIDEO IS EIGHT YEARS OLD and we were making fun of it then.

Was about to post this. Genius.

It’s up to the business.

That’s like going to a buffet restaurant and finding a “hack” to make them bring you food to your table so you don’t have to get your own food at the buffet. If you want people to serve you food at the table, don’t go to a buffet. If you want someone else to bag your groceries, don’t go to Aldi. As the article says,

Karen refers to weaponized privilege. In some ways, declaring all terms that you don’t like as misogynistic is in the same category - you have the privilege to decide something is okay, and use it to silence people calling out a (very specific) behavior.

Well, only if viewed singularly through a gendered lens...except the whole point of Karen is to highlight racial and class privilege and the entitled behavior that comes with it. It is literally the way white women benefit from aligning themselves with other oppressive powers ....

Same here.

Hmm, I was hoping the stakes would be raised from BttF2 but they were considerably lowered instead. Less fun. I prefer Biff as a villain instead of "every person is Biff's family line was also a dick."

The Karate Kid sequel series is finally heading to the All Valley karate tournament”
