The graffiti tag O.B.G.Y.Glen made me laugh inexplicably ever time I passed it.

John Wayne.

John Wayne.

Mike Myers couldn't, even given three tries.

He was pretty perfectly cast in Wedding Crashers as well, which might explain some of the hate.

Refresh my memory - what does the <sprong!> tag do? And is it supported in iOS6?

I do.

I do.

Yeah, but it's not like he's asking for handouts. I mean, contributors get blog access! Where do I mail this check?

I haven't seen Magnolia since it came out, and I wonder how I'd feel about it now. I really liked it in spite of the criticism it came in for, and my guess is that I would still respond well to what I liked at the time — PTA's ability to wring unbelievable tension out of setpiece scenes.

I don't really care that other people enjoyed AB, but the notion that dislike of this movie is an exercise in self-gratifying contrarianism is just flatly absurd. I hated this movie when it came out. I hated it before it won any awards, and I hated it before I blossomed into the tragically hip person I am now.

I know pretty much nothing about these books, but I do recall the incomparable Ariel Levy pointing out that there really nothing very dangerous about them. The dude is basically the perfect lover, who also spanks and is a billionaire. So a more mundane explanation might be that books like Fifty Shades and Twilight

I used to be at least conceptually open to the idea that there was a time that political correctness ran amok — you know, pendulum swung too far, needless sensitivity out of proportion to actual offense, etc.
