I also knew Landry the murderer was coming when I watched season 2 of FNL for the first time, but it didn't annoy me nearly as much Matt banging his grandma's nurse or Buddy adopting a Latino teenager.  Just bad all over.  It gets better immediately after the second season, so power through as best you can.

The difference for Dany and Robb is that she survives her rookie ruling season.  She'll know better after the disaster that's been made in Slaver's Bay for when she inevitably makes it to Westeros sometime in book 7.
