As far as biggest waste of talent goes, that has to be The Newsroom. I'm perversely looking forward to the continued hate-watching of it in the summer. It can't possibly continue to be so terrible, right?

The piano theme for Louie's Late Show episodes easily wins my prize for best use of music for the year, distantly followed by The National's cover of 'The Rains of Castamere.'

Next to the admittedly great middle episodes of the last season are some really bad ones. Just stop writing for Fat Betty and be done with it.

I'd say it's only better this season because everyone's dialogue has been severely reduced. Not a great statement on it's overall quality.

Kinda shocked to see The Newsroom and Hemingway and Gelhorn on a couple lists. Man, HBO was on a roller-coaster of quality this year.

That was pretty surprising, but I'm fine with it. The way shit just works out for everyone bugs me, whether it be outlandish offers for the Luncheonette, a strapped family sending their daughter to an extremely expensive school and then never talking about it again, a well-placed home-run, or a grade school election.…

It's The Master by a mile for me. It just worked for me. Not totally understanding it or PTA's thesis doesn't matter when I was so in awe of what was on screen.
