That's a pretty all-encompassing statement. I'd put something like Ex Machina up against anything on TV in the last couple of years.

Film and TV are VERY different things.
Into Darkness failed the "Fridge Logic" test for me as well. Especially the extended and unneeded sequences in the 3rd act.
Boo! Dad-shamer! Tell that to the migrant workers who move to another country to get work to try and make their kids lives better (which is really the #1 driving factor for dads). Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Well said. That's the sad part of the song, and of life in general.
EXACTLY! Dad's apologizing for being busy, he was probably off earning money and such to feed the family. Dads get a bad rap for being too busy for their families, when the truth (a lot of the time) is that the reason they're too busy is that they're trying to make life good for their families.
That's because most of her role is staring harshly with her far-too-small eyes.
Are you basing that on the Tv show? Cuz the comic book version has been a hardcore warrior for years.
She's a freaking warrior. Why is this shocking or disappointing to you?
My grandfather was a Greek fisherman, he used to run nets just off the coast of Unpopula.
The progressive part of this experience is that Feig was banking on the social media outrage, and leaned in to hard. He basically dared people to criticize the concept of 4 women GBs and labeled all the detractors. Marketing by outrage.
Try Fringe again. The first couple of episodes are wishy washy, but it REALLY picks up.
It IS listed among the greatest TV shows of all time. Many of us don't feel that the journey must be defined by its destination.
I disagree strongly. In fact, with all the mysteries revealed, on a second watch you pay attention to the characters far more, and it becomes something else entirely, such a great show.
That was beauty of LOST though, it started as a small story about a group of survivors, then became a bigger story about an island, then a bigger story still, etc, etc.
The Problem with BSG is that it peaked at New Caprica, and just got stupider with ever episode after that. I think the writers started listening to the internet and played up the Final Five nonsense way too much.
Fringe might fit the bill (not sure if you've seen it). I'm a hard core LOSTie, but Fringe grabbed me in the same way.
I like to call Game of Thrones "60 minutes with like 1 storyline you might give a shit about".
I have Rogue One fatigue already.
I built a giant version of it with Lego. Don't want to be threadjack guy, but you can find it if you search Lego Mosiac Rocketeer.
